Analysis of the Top Ten Georgia High Schools
Eight of the Top Ten Georgia High Schools are within the Metro Atlanta vicinity. Gwinnett County led the pack with three top ten ranked high schools; Gwinnett School of Mathematics – Science and Technology, Buford High School and North Gwinnett High School. Cobb County had two high schools Lassiter and Walton, as did Forsyth County with Lambert and South Forsyth High Schools. Dekalb County had one high school, the Dekalb Early College Academy.
Two notable high schools made the list from outside the Atlanta area; Columbus High School in Muscogee County and Davidson Magnet School in Richmond County. It’s worth noting that 3 of the Top Ten Georgia High Schools had enrollments of under 1,000 students. They are Gwinnett School of Mathematics – Science and Technology (976), Dekalb Early College Academy (335), and Davidson Magnet School (758). Both Columbus and Buford High Schools had approximately 1200 students. Five high schools had over two thousand scholars; Lambert High School (2741), Lassiter High School (2131), Walton High School ( 2674), South Forsyth High School (2693) and North Gwinnett High School (2698).
